MONTHLY CREATIVE PLAYGROUND

from $50.00

A creative group exploration of our lives to discover and activate new creative skills.

We started the Creative Playground in 2022 with a collective intent: that exploring creativity together is therapeutic. We have created a space where we foster our creativity, and develop emotionally as well as artistically. We come together on Zoom the first Thursday of every month. Participants share, respond to each other and we create with our varied histories, identities, stories and emotional responses to living in a world where crisis is the norm. In the Creative Playground we use the expressive arts (theater/improv, poetry, movement, music, drawing/collage) to create improvised conversations and art together.

In 2024, we are going further and offering an opportunity for each member to co-lead with us an activity (it can be a creative skill they would like to share or to learn with the support of the group). All participants are invited to bring their creative projects and desires to the group. No specific creative/artistic expertise is required other than being present.

What participants say:

I learned so much about myself, that I thought I knew. I think I’m beginning to come outside of my head, where I live most of the time. I opened up emotionally when I was so exhausted I didn’t think I had anything left to give.

Marian and Aurelie created a vulnerable space of warmth, creativity, and fun that allowed me to be courageous with my own vulnerability on many levels.

During the sessions, hearing our shared stories inspired me to be more creative in small ways (i.e., journaling on the go, making sketches, making a quick painting, and writing weird poetry).
